The Difficult Dishwasher

Ornery Olive Oil Ouster of Omaha, NE

March 22nd, 2023 our technician arrived to diagnose a Jennair dishwasher. The customer was having issues with the unit coming back to life after a cycle was completed, running cycle after cycle until someone opened the door. Our tech found the error codes for F2E1 and F5E1 stored in the control. Using these error codes as clues, and his diagnostic skills he found it was the main control in combination with the user interface control causing the issues. Once these two controls had been replaced, our technician found a new set of error codes stating the door was stuck closed. After checking the door latch, he found that it too was out of spec, and must be replaced. Finally, he replaced the door latch and all was good, right? Wrong! He had replaced the correct parts that had failed, but did not consider the fact that these were WIFI enabled controls. The issue was with the WIFI connection, and it was kicking the dishwasher into cycle without anyone asking it to. Since these were WIFI compatible controls, they had to be replaced using a specific process so that they would connect, correctly. One specific control had to be replaced, then energized, then de-energized, before the second control could be installed, and then energized. It was a process, but the dishwasher is now fully functioning and the customer is happy! All thanks to our Omaha, NE Andy's Appliance Repair Team!
