Maytag is an industry leader in home appliances for good reason – they make top quality home appliances. Whether it’s a washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, range, or microwave – Maytag produces a quality version. But even the best appliances break down and need repair over time. We’ve done our fair share of Maytag repairs in Omaha and Lincoln over the years. We familiar with the brand and store replacement parts in our warehouse to make sure repairs are done fast. Let’s take a look at popular Maytag appliances and some common repairs we see.
Maytag Washer Repairs
One of the most common washer repairs we do is on a washer that won’t spin. When this happens, there are usually three things that might be causing it. First, we look at your lid switch assembly. The lid switch prevents your washer from spinning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not spin. We’ll use a multimeter to test the lid switch and replace it if that’s the problem. If it’s not the lid switch, it could be the motor coupling or drive belt.
Maytag Dryer Repairs
What if your Maytag dryer drum stops turning? The first thing we look at is your dryer’s drive belt. The drive belt is a very long, slender belt that wraps all the way around the dryer drum, a tension pulley, and then around the drive motor pulley. Over time, this belt can break from normal use. If the belt is broken, your dryer won’t turn. You can test this yourself by reaching into your dryer – if the drum spins easily, the belt is probably broken.
Maytag Refrigerator Repairs
A common issue people have is their refrigerator water dispenser stops working. The first thing to check if this happens is the water tube – it may be frozen. To determine if it’s frozen, disconnect the tube at the bottom of the door and blow air through it. If air does not pass through, you have a frozen water supply tube. If it’s frozen, thaw it out. Next, make sure your freezer temp is set between 0-10 degrees F. If the freezer is too cold, your water line will freeze.
Maytag Dishwasher Repairs
One thing we run into a lot is a dishwasher that stops draining. The first thing we look at in this case is the drain pump. The pump uses an impeller to force water through the drain hose. If the drain pump motor is not working, the dishwasher can’t drain. We’ll use a multimeter to test the motor and replace it if that’s the issue.
