We Know Miele Appliances

Miele is a German manufactuer that makes high-end domestic appliances and commercial equipment.  Headquartered in Gutersloh, Germany, the company was founded in 1899 by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann. The company remains a family owned and operated business. Miele’s slogan in German is “immer besser” which translates to “constantly improving.” It shows in their latest innovations for the kitchen and laundry markets. In 2007, Miele was given an award as the most successful German company, beating the previous year’s winner Google. Today, Miele remains one the best appliance companies on the planet.

Frequently Asked Questions about Miele Appliances

How do I reset my Miele washing machine?

Hold Start button while turning on. Wait 2 seconds. Release Start Button then: press, release, press, release, press and hold until light flashes then release.

Why does my Miele dishwasher smell?

The smell is due to water retained in between washes. If you run the rinse cycle, that will dissipate. Make sure you take out the filter and clean it out regularly.

How do you unclog a washing machine drain pipe?

To clear a clog from a washing machine, try unhooking the drain pipe and pouring hot water down the drain to release the soap and scum. For stubborn clogs, push a plumbing snake down the drain. As it goes down, turn the handle clockwise anytime you feel a clog, which will grab the debris and allow you to pull it out.

What is the best drain cleaner for a washing machine drain?

Salt and hot water work well to remove laundry detergent soap-clogged narrow pipes. Pour ½ cup of salt down the slow-moving drain. Next, bring 2 liters of water to a boil; then carefully and slowly pour the hot water down the drain.

Why are my clothes so wet after washing?

If the drain hose on the back of your washer is too far down or not down far enough in the standpipe, this can cause an issue with proper draining and can cause the washer to not fully drain out the water and therefore your clothing will still be soaking wet after a wash cycle.
