Frequently Asked Questions about GE Appliances

How do you reset a GE fridge?

Disconnect the refrigerator and wait 30 seconds. Plug it back in and it will be reset. There is no reset button on a GE fridge.

Why is my GE fridge running but not cooling?

Dirty and clogged coils can cause poor cooling.  Unplug your fridge and pull it away from the wall. Examine the coils. If there is dust build up, brush it off gently. Plug the unit back in and see if that helps.

Why is my GE washer not draining?

If water remains after your wash you may have a pinched or clogged drain hose. Unplug your washer and remove the drain hose. Make sure to have a bucket to collect any water that comes out of the unit. If the hose is clogged remove the debris and you should be good.

Why is my GE washer not agitating?

Over time your agitator components can wear out and fail. An overloaded washer can cause the agitator to not work as well.

How can I reset my GE washer?

Start by unplugging the washer for one minute. Plug the washing machine back in and then within 30 seconds, quickly open and close the lid six times.
