We Know Roper Appliances
Roper began manufacturing appliances way back in 1874. The quickly developed recognition for their gas ranges. Over one hundred years later, in the mid 1980’s, General Electric and Whirlpool began a bidding war to acquire Roper. Whirlpool eventually acquired the brand name and the major appliance division of the company in 1989, while GE acquired Roper’s stove and lawn care divisions. Today, Roper Whirlpool appliances are sold exclusively at Lowe’s.
